音楽活動を振り返って、反省しているような歌詞ですが、アルバムが発表された時、オーケストラも加わる壮大な曲であるにもかかわらず、私にはどうもピンと来ませんでした。
Freddieが深刻な状況にあるということを知らなかったからです。
しかし、当時、Freddie はすでにAIDSをほんとうに発症していて、メンバーも全員近い将来に起こることを知っているわけです。
Freddieが亡くなってから、聞き返すと「そういうことだったんだ！」とメンバーの壮絶な戦いを知り涙しました。
曲のアイディアはFreddie ということですが、彼が「価値があったんだろうか？」ってつぶやいたのかもしれません。
「価値があったんだろうか？」って、もちろん最高に「その価値はあったよ」
