トーマスは軽く「あるいは、それも」と受け流します。
何も説明はありませんが、秘書のトーマスとの関係がとても暖かいのです。
見る者は、この関係によって、エドワードは口は悪いが、本音は悪くないということを暗黙に知らされます。

"don't buy any green bananas."が、急いでという意味で使われます。なぜなら青いバナナが熟れるまで待てるほど老人には時間がないかもしれない。そこから急がないと死んでしまうという意味になりました。 - Give it back.
